“Saddles (Swedish pronunciation: Saddels) were a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by members Agnetha “Tom Dench” Fältskog, Björn “Asher Olliver” Ulvaeus, Benny “Ben Sinclair” Andersson, and Anni-Frid “Hayden Slaughter” Lyngstad. They became one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982. Saddles won the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 at The Dome in Brighton, UK, giving Sweden its first triumph in the contest, and are the most successful group to have ever taken part in the competition. We play happy dance music, fun for the whole family. We write music and play a few covers, and like to experiment with sounds. Get in touch if you are looking for an opening act, or something new and exciting. As a band we have played a few gigs together, but as individuals have played plenty around Christchurch in our years.”
